Over 1,000 Bicyclists To Race In Tour De Bintan

Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Oct 22 (Antara) - As many as 1,053 bicyclists from 31 countries are expected to race in the Tour de Bintan in the Riau Islands provincial district of Bintan from November 8 to 10, 2013. The number of those registered to race in 2013 is up from 927 racers in 2012, according to head of Bintan tourist office, Setioso, here on Monday, adding that the 2013 tour de Bintan is in its fifth year. "Its participants continue to increase and we have had to limit the number of participants to 1,100, considering the limited accommodations in hotels, Sutioso said. Also, there will be two stages in the 2013 Tour de Bintan and several categories for professional athletes and amateurs. In addition to Tour de Bintan, the organizing committee will also conduct the Bintan Triathlon and the Kiteboard Tour Asia. Most of participants are professional athletes, Sutioso added.
