Paralympics gold medalist Siamand Rahman joins Persepolis

TEHRAN,Jan.13(MNA) – Iran’s Paralympics gold medalist Siamand Rahman joined Persepolis on a 15-month contract on Friday.
The 24-year-old won the gold medal of the Men's Powerlifting +100kg category in the 2012 Paralympic Games by lifting 280kg in London.
“I am so happy to join the Iranian popular club Persepolis. I want to set a new Guinness World Record,” Rahman said.
“Mr. Mohammad Ruyanian (Persepolis general manager) asked me to join the club and I am proud of being a member of the club,” he added.
“I wish to see one of the Persepolis football match in person at the stadium. Persepolis is my favorite team,” the disabled athlete declared.
Weightlifter Behdad Salimi, who claimed the gold medal of the Men’s +100kg in the 2012 Olympic Games and silver medalist discus thrower Ehsan Hadadi, has already joined Persepolis club.
