Portugal, Belgium, Serbia and Czechia Take First Wins in the European Qualifiers World Cup 2022 Qatar

EU, March 25 (QNA) - Portugal, Belgium, Serbia and the Czechia have all achieved their first victory in the European qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In Group A, Portugal took a 1-0 victory over Azerbaijan, as Azerbaijani defender Maxim Medvedev scored an own goal in the 36th minute. In the same group Serbia took a close win over Ireland 3-2. This win places Serbia on top of the group, leading by goal difference against Portugal. In Group E, the Czechia's national team started its qualifying campaign for the 2022 World Cup with a big victory away against Estonia 6-2. West Ham's midfielder Thomas Sochik gave a spectacular performance , scoring a hat-trick in the 32nd, 43rd and 48th minute, while Patrick Schick, Antonin Barak and Jacob Jankto scored the other three goals in the 18th, 27th, 56th minutes. While Estonia's double came from Raunu Sabinin and Henri Anier who scored in the 12th, 86th minutes. Belgium succeeded in defeating Wales 3-1 after trailing with a goal. Harry Wilson scored the opener for Wales in the 10th minute while Kevin De Bruyne, Thorgan Hazard and Romelu Lukaku scored for Belgium in the 22nd,28th and 73rd minute, in the first round of the fifth group. Thus, Czechia tops Group E early with 3 points and goal difference against Belgium, while Wales and Estonia occupy the fourth and fifth places, respectively, without points, and Belarus has not yet started its matches in the qualifiers.
