Qatar Achieves Great Results in First Day of Paragliding Tangle Competitions of the World Parachuting Championships

Moscow, August 17 (QNA) - Qatari Skydive Team of the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces achieved distinguished results in the first day of the paragliding tangle competitions within the World Parachuting Championships which Russia hosts in Tanay till Aug. 21, with the participation of 30 countries. The Qatari team clinched the second place in the dual sequential event, and the third place in 4-way rotation event. In the dual sequential event, the Qatari team (Sequential A), consisting of Abdulaziz Zubaidi, Salman Al Sharshani and Ahmad Al Yafei, presented a strong performance and won the second place with 55 points. In the 4-way rotation event, the Qatari team consisting of Ali Hamad, Abdullah Hani, Saeed Al Kuwari, Hasan Al Maliki and Saleh Al Kuwari occupied the third place by scoring 36 points. Captain of Qatar Paragliding Tangle Team Mansour Al Karbi said in press statements that the first day's competitions were strong and competitive, and it is expected that the competitions will continue in the same manner in the coming days, given the strength of the participating teams. Al Karbi said that the Qatari team prepared well for the championship in a training camp for two months, stressing the strength of the Qatari teams participating in all competitions and their ability to compete and reach the podiums.
