Qatar Armed Forces Marks Qatar Sport Day

Doha, February 11 (QNA) - Qatar Armed Forces celebrated Qatar Sport Day by organizing competitions that included football, volleyball, basketball, cricket and other games. The celebration was organized under the patronage of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, and in the presence of HE the Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, HE Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration and Logistics Affairs Major General (Pilot) Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Kumait Al Khayarin. The activities were attended by senior officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals from all units of the Qatar Armed Forces and the friendly forces, with the participation of the families of members of the Qatar Armed Forces. HE Staff Brigadier General Yousef Dasma Al Kuwari, President of the Military Sports Association, said that the main objective of these activities is to consolidate the sporting mindset of members of the armed forces and urge them to continue practicing sports. At the end of the events, HE the Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces honored and crowned the winning sports teams in the competitions. (QNA)
