Qatar Asian Open Squash Championship Concludes Sunday
Doha, October 01 (QNA) - The Qatar Asian Open Squash Championship, organized by Qatar Squash Federation on the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, ended Sunday with the participation of Qatar, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran in categories U19, U17, U15, U13 and U11.
Pakistan's Abbas Zab won first place in the U19 category and his compatriot Mansur Zaman finished second. Iran's Alireza Shamili came in third. Pakistan also dominated the U17 titles as well.
In the U13 category, Qatar's Yousuf Faraj won the second place behind Khan Mohammed Hamza of Pakistan, who won the first spot.
In the U11 category, Qatari players dominated this category as Ali Mohammed Odeh won first place, followed by Jassim Talal Al-Thani in second place and Khaled Al Hammadi in third place.
In a statement Sunday, Executive Director of the Qatar Tennis and Squash Federation and Director of the tournament, Saad Al Mohannadi stressed the importance of this championship in developing the skill of squash players by practicing and interacting with new players from different squash schools.
Al Mohannadi praised the young Qatari players, stressing that they will have a promising future in squash. (QNA)
