Qatar Chamber Discusses Boosting Bilateral Trade, Economic Cooperation with Vietnam

Doha, July 04 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari discussed today with HE Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Quang, who is visiting the State of Qatar, the bilateral trade and economic cooperation aspects with Vietnam and ways of boosting this cooperation. During the meeting, the two sides discussed trade and economic relations between both countries and the investment opportunities available in both friend countries and to investigate the establishment of a Qatari-Vietnamese joint business council. Al Kuwari said that Qatari businessmen are interested in exploring investment opportunities in Vietnam, especially the capabilities it possesses and the facilities and incentives it provides for foreign investments. He pointed out that the opportunity is favorable for the private sector in both countries to establish mutual partnerships and enhance the volume of trade exchange. He stressed that the Qatar Chamber is keen to allow business owners to explore the available investment opportunities and establish joint meetings that pave the way for alliances and economic partnerships. HE Pham Quang Hieu stressed the tied relations between Qatar and Vietnam and that there is an opportunity to enhance cooperation in the economic areas, increase the volume of trade exchange, and establish long-term partnerships between the private sector in both countries, noting that his country has investment incentives and great potential. He added that his country was able to attract major international companies. He also stressed that the areas in which the two sides can cooperate are many and varied, such as infrastructure, technology, communications, halal, and others. The Vietnamese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs called on Qatari business owners and investors to learn about investment opportunities in his country and to discuss the possibility of partnerships with their counterparts from Vietnam to benefit the economies of both countries, stressing that the Qatar Chamber plays a role in enhancing cooperation between the business community in both countries.
