Qatar Faces Australia Thursday in 2021 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship

Chiba, Japan, September 15 (QNA) - The Qatari volleyball team will meet its Australian counterpart Thursday in its first match in the second round of the 2021 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, which is currently being held in Chiba, Japan, and will continue until next Sunday. The Qatari team is competing in the second round, in a group that includes the host which is Japan, Australia and China, while the other group includes Iran, Pakistan, China, Taipei and Korea. The Qatari team ranked second in the first group in the first round, with two wins over India in three games, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22, and Bahrain in three games, also by 25-19, 25-20, 26-24, and one loss against Japan, 0-3, at a rate of 20-25, 23-25, 21-25. It is noteworthy that Iran is the holder of the title of the last edition of the tournament in 2019, while the Japanese team is the most crowned team in the competition, winning nine titles. (QNA)
