Qatar Football Team Coach: The Team Presented Ideal Performance against Luxembourg

Debrecen, Hungary, March 25 (QNA) - Coach of Qatar National Football Team Felix Sanchez expressed great happiness with the team's victory over Luxembourg at the start of its historic participation in the European qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Qatar won its first match at the European qualifiers on Wednesday, snatching a 1-0 against Luxembourg. Speaking at a virtual press conference after the match, Sanchez said that team presented an ideal performance against an organized team that tried hard to return to the match, considering this victory as the best motivation to continue the journey. Striker Mohammed Muntari put Qatar ahead just 13 minutes into the game with a side-footed shot. The Qatari team is now scheduled to play against Azerbaijan and the Republic of Ireland at the Nagyerdei Stadion, Debrecen in the coming days. "The national team players are used to this situation (of playing three matches within a week). The players have been playing this kind of format for some time now," Sanchez said. "They are used to playing 3-4 matches in a short period of time. That is not going to be an issue. We have a good number of (28) players here so we can change players when we want to," he added. (QNA)
