Qatar Hosts 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Global Alliance of International Financial Centers

Doha, October 25 (QNA) - The State of Qatar hosted Annual General Meeting of the Global Alliance of International Financial Centers for the year 2020, which was held via visual communication technology. The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by Qatar Financial Center (QFC). The agenda of the meeting included a number of virtual events that highlighted the strategic role carried out by the State of Qatar in advancing the economic recovery in the post-coronavirus pandemic, whether at the local, regional or international level. The meeting also highlighted the distinct technological environment in the State and the innovative digital platform of Qatar Financial Center, which provided an opportunity for senior officials and high-level experts representing more than 25 countries to express their views in discussions and dialogues. Commenting on the occasion, Chief of Marketing and Corporate Communications at QFC Sarah Al Dorani expressed pleasure for hosting the Annual General Meeting of the Global Alliance of International Financial Centers for the first time after gaining the membership of the Global Alliance of International Financial Centers last year. Al Dorani stressed the importance of this event to QFC, which is carrying out its role in supporting the efforts aimed at advancing the economic development, especially during this stage. QFC also organized a series of virtual events on the sidelines of the meeting, aimed at linking the world's major financial centers with the booming Qatari market. (QNA)
