Qatar Leads Second and Third groups in Arab Volleyball Championship

Tunisia, February 23 (QNA) - Qatar's Al-Rayyan and Al-Ahli teams completed the first round matches (group stage) of the 40th Arab Volleyball Club Championship for men unbeaten, after winning this evening in the two matches that were held at the end of the second and third groups of the competition. Al-Rayyan and Al-Ahli qualified for the quarter-finals of the championship after their victory yesterday evening over the Palestinian Friendship and Khaybel from Yemen. Al-Rayyan succeeded in continuing his victories in the championship and ending his matches in the second group with the full score, after his victory this evening against Al-Kamel and Al-Wafi team from Oman by three clean sets, 27-25, 25-18, 25-20, to raise his score to 12 points at the top of the group. Al-Ahli managed to finish the first stage (groups) with three consecutive victories, the last of which was this evening against the AS Marsa with a score (3-2), to raise its score to eight points at the top of the third group, and the sets came by 25-19, 25-13, 26 - 28, 16-25, 15-10.
