Qatar National Football Team Continue Preparation for Matches against Oman and India
Doha, May 18 (QNA) - The Qatari national football team will continue their training within their preparatory camp at the Aspire Academy stadiums in preparation for the matches against India and Oman in the joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Doha during the period from June 3 to 15 .
Qatar participated in training session this evening with the participation of all the players, where the Qatari team will meet their Indian counterpart on June 3, and they will face Oman June 7, in Group E , which also includes the teams of Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Spaniard Felix Sanchez, coach of the Qatari national team, stressed the importance of winning the next two matches in order to secure the team's qualification to the 2023 Asian Cup finals in China as a leader of the group.
Sanchez also called, through his instructions to the players in training, to continue to work more seriously and raise the technical and physical level in order to continue the journey successfully, especially since the coming period will witness the team's participation in the Golden Cup and also the FIFA Arab Cup 2021, which Doha will host.
Qatar is looking for a victory and a draw at least in the next two confrontations to ensure the top of the group.
The technical staff of the Qatari national team, led by the Spaniard Felix Sanchez, announced the list of the players who were called up, namely: Saad Al-Shaib, Meshaal Barshim, Pedro Miguel, Salem Al-Hajri, Tariq Salman, Abdul Karim Hassan, Boualem Khokhi, Hassan Al Haydos, Akram Afif, Youssef Abdel Razzaq, Ahmed Suhail, Musab Khader and Mohamed Waad (Al Sadd) Salah Zakaria, Bassam Al-Rawi, Asim Madbo, Al-Muizz Ali, Karim Boudiaf, Ismail Muhammad, Muhammad Muntari, Abdullah Abdul-Salam and Sultan Al-Brik (Al-Duhail) .. Ahmad Ala Al-Din and Humam Al-Amin (Al-Gharafa) Mahmoud Abu Nada (Al-Arabi) Abdulaziz Hatem (Al-Rayyan) Khaled Munir (Al-Wakrah).
Group E matches will be held in four rounds, with dates from June 3-7-11-15, with seven matches. Qatar lead Group E ranking with 16 points from six matches, compared to 12 points from five matches for Oman, 4 for Afghanistan, 3 for India and a point for Bangladesh. (QNA)
