      Qatar National Team Participates in Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour

Doha, February 28 (QNA) - Qatars Olympic duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan are preparing to begin their campaign in the 2022 Volleyball World Pro Tour from the mid of March.
	Featuring three tiers of competition and set to visit five continents, the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour begins in a month in Mexico, then travels to South Africa and Brazil in April and events in Europe and Asia later in the year. A packed calendar will ensure fans enjoy superlative beach volleyball all year round on the worlds premier tour.
	With events on five continents already announced, and more to come, a day of qualifications has now also been added to all top tier Elite16 events, extending competition by a day, and opening the highest level of the Beach Pro Tour to more elite teams, who will compete for the USD 300,000 prize purse per event.
	The Elite16 tournaments represent the pinnacle of beach volleyball, and now even more teams will get a chance to make the cut
	Member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA), and Vice-Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Committee, Mohamed Salem Al Kuwari, said in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the Qatari team is currently ranked first in the world according to the latest classification of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), and it seeks through its participation in Elite16 with a rating of 600 points to continue its achievements in the past period, noting that Elite16 is the first in the world in terms of classification and includes Elite players in the world.
	Al Kuwari added that this year the FIVB changed the classification of its championships from stars to points, where tournaments are played with points classification at 3 levels / 600, 400 and 200 / points, instead of the previous one, where it started from one star to five stars of the highest rating.
	Al Kuwari indicated that the QVA will organize one of the world tours with a rating of 400 points, and it will be held during the period from 5 to 8 of next May. It comes as an alternative to the Katara World Championship, which was held annually in the month of March.
	Qatar's beach volleyball team of duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan winner of the bronze medal of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, maintains on the top of world standing with total of 5040 points, advanced over the Polish duo Piotr Kantor and Bartuch Luciak in second place with 3,840 points, after the FIVB released the latest ranking.
	Crowning the title of "King of the Court" beach volleyball tournament hosted by Aspire Zone with participation of 35 international teams, was the latest achievements of Qatari team. 
	The Qatari team has become one of the best teams in the world and succeeded in achieving distinguished results in international events. (QNA)
