Qatar Olympic Academy Concludes Sports Management Course-Level 1

Doha, September 11 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Academy wrapped up Sunday a five-day course on principles of Olympic movement in the sports organization in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC's) Olympic Solidarity Commission.
The course comes within the framework of annual courses aimed at educating society on the Olympic culture with participants from a variety of sporting and administrative specializations.
The course is the first access course to the academy's 12th edition of a diploma program in Olympic and sports management. Many sports leaders in the GCC countries are graduates of this program.
The course was presented by the Adviser to the Tunisian Minister of Youth and Sports, a Professor at the University of Jendouba's Higher Institute of Sports and Physical Education, and the former president of Tunisian Olympic Academy Dr. Maha Zawawi. She spoke on a host of issues including the concepts of sports management, the establishment of the Olympic movement and modern Olympic games (Olympic history), Olympic charter and values, administrative skills, approaches to developing sports administration cadres, and planning and administration of resources in sports institutions. Students will have an examination on the 'final day of the course.
The second access course is due to start at the end of Sep under the theme of Modern Management in Olympic and Sports Organizations. It will address a number of related topics, at top of which come administrative skills in the sports field like the benefits of good communication and effective interaction, management of work environment, time management in sports organizations, and the importance of time management, in addition to other topics, most notably technical management, activities and events management, as well as human resources management.
