Qatar Participates in Second Meeting of AFC Marketing Committee

Doha, November 11 (QNA) - The second meeting of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Marketing Committee was held today via video conference technology, chaired by Dasho Ugen Tsechup and with the participation of all committee members. The Qatar Football Association (QFA) was represented at the meeting by the Director of Marketing and Communication Department Khaled Mubarak Al Kuwari and member of the AFC Marketing Committee. The meeting reviewed the 2020 AFC Champions League competitions, which will be held in Doha during the period from Nov. 18 to Dec.13, as well as the action plan and marketing strategy for the coming years. The Committee recommended - and subsequently approved by the AFC Executive Committee - the rebranding of the AFC Competitions to AFC Asian Cups to reflect on the growing reputation and standing of the events. The support of the Committee in the rebranding will no doubt not only strengthen the image of the tournaments but will also add to their commercial appeal, which will ultimately benefit the Member Associations as well as the AFC. The proposal to review the AFC club competitions schedule was, following its introduction at yesterday's AFC Technical Committee meeting, discussed from a marketing and promotion perspective only. The proposal will also be reviewed by the AFC Competition's Committee before any recommendations are made. (QNA)
