Qatar Ranks Second Overall in the Arab Table Tennis Championships in Jordan

Amman, August 16 (QNA) - Qatar's table tennis teams made outstanding achievements during their participation in the Arab Table Tennis Championships in Jordan, winning 19 medals in the single, double and team competitions, including 4 gold medals, to occupy the second place in the overall standings.
Egypt won the first place in the tournament which witnessed strong competitions this year, amidst extraordinary circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The single and double finals were held today, with Qatari champions accomplish a record of 12 medals, gold, silver and bronze, rising the total number of medals to 19 following their brilliant performance in the team competitions.
The clubs competitions will kick off Tuesday with the participation of Al Sadd SC and Qatar SC in the men's competitions, and Qatar Women club in the women's completions.
Director of National Team for Age Groups Khalid Ali Al Kuwari expressed delight with the accomplishments of Qatar's champions in the Arab Championships in Jordan, indicating that the Qatari table tennis is moving in the right direction as long as it takes care of all age groups and players.
Khalil Ahmad Al Mohannadi, President of the Arab Table Tennis Federation and Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) and First Vice-President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) congratulated Qatari players on their outstanding performance in the Arab Championships, winning a great number of medals that made Qatar rank in the second place in the overall standings.
