Qatar Teams Achieve 3 Victories in Asian Table Tennis Championships

Doha, September 30 (QNA) - Qatar's men's and women's table tennis teams achieved three victories today in the 25th Asian Championship, which is currently being held in Doha with the participation of 194 players representing 30 countries and will continue until October 5.
The Qatari victories came within the ranking positions after exiting the group stage where the Qatari men's team defeated Sri Lanka 3-1 in its first match in the ranking matches for the positions from 13th to 18th and won the second match against the Kuwaiti team 3-0 in the ordinal matches for the 13th to 16th places.
The Qatari men's team will face its Jordanian counterpart Thursday in the match to determine the 13th and 14th places at the end of its matches in the championship.
As for the Qatar women's team it settled its ranking in the 17th place after its victory over Nepal 3-1, and it had lost to the Maldives 3-1 in its first ranking match.
For the second day in a row, the final qualifiers for the quarter-finals of the tournament and for the 2022 World Cup in China were held, where Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Thailand qualified for the World Cup finals, while in the women's competition, teams of India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Iran qualified for the World Cup.
According to the tournament regulations, ten men and women teams will qualify for the next World Cup through this edition of the Asian Championship, according to the order from first to ten. (QNA)
