Qatar Total Open: Keys Beats No.6 Seed Bencic

Doha, March 03 (QNA) - Madison Keys made a successful return to the WTA at the Qatar Total Open on Tuesday with a 6-4, 6-1 win against No.6 seed Belinda Bencic in the opening round in Doha. WTA's official website said that the match was Keys first since the French Open five months ago. The 2017 US Open finalist needed just over an hour to start off her season with a victory and gain a 2-1 head-to-head edge against Bencic. The 20 unforced errors made by Bencic in the match was a key reason for the loss. She also won only 28 percent off her second serve. Keys will meet Greece's Maria Sakkari Wednesday in the quarter-finals. (QNA)
