Qatar Wins Fifth Consecutive Asian Men's Handball Championship Title

Dammam, January 31 (QNA) - Qatar claimed their fifth consecutive Asian Men's Handball Championship title, which qualifies for the 2023 IHF World Men's Handball Championship in Poland and Sweden, after victory over Bahrain 29-24 in the final of the 2022 Asian Men's Handball Championship (20th edition) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia on Monday. With the title win, Qatar, who also won 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 editions, equaled South Koreas record of five straight titles in the continental event. Earlier on Monday, hosts Saudi Arabia secured a bronze medal after a 26-23 win over Iran in the third position play-off.
