Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah Looks to Clinch Moroccan Rally Title

Doha, October 07 (QNA) - Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah is looking forward to achieving the title of the 21st edition of the Moroccan Desert Rally, the fourth round of the World Cup for Cross Country Rally (Cross Country) 2021 in order to snatch the lead in the general standings of the World Cross-Country Rally Championship. The show stage competitions event starts in Fez on October 8 for 10 kilometre-long, to determine the starting positions and five special stages subject to timing with the competitions ending on the October 13th. Al Attiyah accompanied by his French navigator Mathieu Baumel aboard a Toyota Hilux leads the list of participants in the rally which also includes Saudi Yazid Al Rajhi, French Matthew Serraduri and Poland's Jakob Przygonski along with Moroccan rally driver Souad Moktdri. Russian Denis Krutov, Argentine Lucio Alvarez, Swede Matias Ekstrom and Spaniard Carlos Sainz also will take part in the rally. Al Attiyah is second in the world championship standings with 29 points, only half a point behind Russian leader Krutov, Argentinian Alvarez and Swede Ekstrom are third and fourth respectively each with 27 points while Spaniard Sainz completed the top five with 22 points.
