Qatar's Beach Handball Team Wins over New Zealand Counterpart at World Games 2022

Birmingham, July 12 (QNA) - Qatar's beach handball team won against its New Zealand counterpart 2-0, in its first matches within the group I competitions of the world games in its 11th edition, currently held in the American city of Birmingham, which will last until July 17. The Qatari team finished the first half with a score of 18-12, before continuing its superiority in the second half, finished with (22-6), and won (2-zero). The team will play its second match later Tuesday against the Croatian national team. There are seven teams participating in the beach handball competitions at the world games, which were divided into two groups, where the first group includes the national teams of Qatar, New Zealand and Croatia, while the second group includes the national teams of Brazil, USA, Argentina and Puerto Rico. This participation is the third for the Qatari team in the world games, as it participated in the 2013 edition held in Colombia and finished fourth, and the 2017 edition held in Poland and won the bronze medal, after beating its Hungarian counterpart 2-1 in the match to determine the third and fourth places.
