QFA Partakes in West Asian Football Federation General Assembly

Doha, December 20 (QNA) - Qatar Football Association (QFA) participated on Saturday via videoconferencing in the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) General Assembly. QFA Secretary-General Mansour Al Ansari represented the association in the General Assembly meeting. Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of WAFF, chaired the meeting, where he praised the significant role of all member federations in promoting football in its various sectors, whether during the past years or the recent period Corona pandemic sweeping the globe. WAFF President praised the efforts of the 12 federations for their transparent and pioneering contributions that always seek to improve the football system in their respective countries. The meeting stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic had impacted football negatively, which motivated WAFF to make additional efforts to compensate for the interruptions. WAFF intensified its administrative activities by holding a series of workshops and training courses covering all fields. During the meeting, the minutes of the previous General Assembly were reviewed, which was approved by the federations representatives. The General Assembly was also briefed on the Federations Executive Committee report, which included all the activities that took place since the last meeting until now, which had many tournaments, administrative actions, training and refereeing courses and workshops in various fields. The proposed amendments to the WAFFs Articles were also approved, the most important of which was the formation of a board of directors to consist of the president, two vice-presidents, at least one board member (female), a person representing the WAFF in the Executive Office of the AFC and seven board members in the WAFF. WAFF will remain in its current formation until 2023, it was announced on Saturday. (QNA)
