Cairo, January 25 (QNA) - President of Qatar Handball Association (QHA) Ahmed Al Shaabi described Qatar match against Argentina on Monday as important. The match is the last of the main round of the 27th IHF Men's World Championship, which is currently being held in Egypt and will run until Jan. 31. Al Shaabi said that Qatar's team (Al-Adam) needs to win in order to keep chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals, adding the team presented a good level in the World Championship despite the great difficulties they faced, especially as they missed a number of players due to absences and injuries. Despite that, he said, they managed to qualify for the main round, and they still have chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals. This in itself is a success for the team that challenged all difficult circumstances and clung to hope until they reached this decisive match against the South American champion Argentina. He said he was confident that they will play hard against Al-Adam in order to defend their chances of qualifying as well. Al Shaabi placed trust in the Qatari team and commended their efforts, calling on them to do their utmost in this crucial encounter while wishing them success. For his part, coach of the Qatar national team Valero Rivera stressed the need to win and get points against Argentina in order to maintain the opportunity to advance to the quarter-finals.
