QNB Stars League: Great Anticipation for Week 16 Matches

Doha, January 22 (QNA) - The matches of Week 16 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League will kick off on Saturday.
Al Khor face Al Sailiya in Week 16 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Al Khor Stadium on Saturday.
Al Khor, under Brazilian Andre Lima, are 11th with 10 points (one win, seven draws and as many defeats) from 15 matches.
The Knights, who held Al Rayyan to a creditable goalless draw in Week 15, have a goal difference of -20 (12 goals for and 32 against).
Al Sailiya, coached by Tunisian Sami Trabelsi, did well in Week 15 by holding strong title contenders Al Duhail to a 1-1 draw. That was a great relief for The Peregrines, who have had a string of negative results that saw them stay in the bottom position in the table with six points from 154 matches.
Al Sailiya, who have only one victory, three draws and 11 defeats against their name, have a goal difference of -20 (seven goals for and 27 against) from 15 matches.
Both teams are coming off draws and occupy the last two spots in the standings. They badly need points to move off the danger zone, so an exciting game is on the cards.
Al Khor and Al Sailiya had played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
Moreover, Al Duhail face Al Wakrah in Week 16 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.
Al Duhail, under Portuguese Luis Castro, are second in the table from 15 matches with 33 points, one less than holders Al Sadd who have played three games less, as their games against Al Wakrah, Qatar SC and Al Rayyan (Qatar Clasico) were postponed.
The Red Knights, who have registered 10 victories, three draws and two defeats, have a goal difference of +22 (39 goals for and 17 against).
Al Duhail had suffered a blow to their title hopes when they were held 1-1 by basement side Al Sailiya in the last round.
Al Wakrah, meanwhile, made it big in Week 15 with their 3-1 win over Al Ahli. That saw them jump from fifth to third place in the standings with 25 points (seven wins, four draws and three defeats) from 14 matches.
The Blue Wave, under Spaniard Marquez Lopez, have a goal difference of +5 (20 goals for and 15 against).
Al Wakrah have a game in hand as their Week 11 fixture against champions Al Sadd was postponed.
Al Duhail mainly rely on Almoez Ali, league top scorer Michael Olunga, Nam Tae-Hee and Mohammed Alaaeldin, while Al Wakrah have the likes of Mohamed Benyettou, Jacinto Dala, Murad Naji and Hazem Shehata.
Al Wakrah had beaten Al Duhail 4-1 in the first leg.
Al Sadd face Al Arabi in Week 16 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.
The high-profile Qatar Derby is a big fixture on and off the field, given the squad strength, great tradition, rich history and huge fan base of both Al Sadd and Al Arabi.
Holders Al Sadd, who defeated Al Shamal 5-1 in Week 15, are topping the table with 34 points with three matches in hand as their games against Al Wakrah (Week 11), Qatar SC (Week 13) and Al Rayyan (Qatar Clasico, Week 14) were postponed.
The Wolves, under Spaniard Javi Gracia, are the only unbeaten team in the tournament (11 wins and one draw). They have a goal difference of +31 (46 goals for and 15 against).
The only time The Wolves dropped points was when they were held 3-3 by Al Duhail in Week 9.
Al Arabi, who lost 1-2 to Qatar SC in Week 15, slipped from fourth to fifth position in the table. They have the same number of points (23) as Al Gharafa, but are placed fourth on goal difference (-1 as against Al Gharafa's +4).
Al Arabi have scored 16 goals and conceded 17.
The Dream Team, under Younes Ali, have seven wins, two draws and six defeats against their name from 15 matches.
Al Sadd will miss the duo of Algerian Baghdad Bounedjah and Ghanaian Andre Ayew, while Al Arabi will also be without Tunisian Yousef Msakni and Gabonese Aaron Boupendza, all doing country duty at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Al Sadd had beaten Al Arabi 4-0 in the first leg.
On Sunday, Al Shamal face Umm Salal in Week 16 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium.
