QNB Stars League: Olunga Leads Top Scorers

Doha, February 01 (QNA) - Al Duhail's Kenyan striker Michael Olunga remained on top of the scorers' chart with 17 goals in the Qatar Football League (QNB Stars League) for the 2021-2022 season. Al Sadd's Akram Afif, scored two goals in his team's postponed match of the eleventh round against Al Wakrah, Afif raised his score to 11 goals, equal with his Algerian teammate Baghdad Bounedjah and Umm Salals Iraqi striker Ayman Hussein. Al Sadds Ghanaian star, Andre Ayew, consolidated his presence in fourth place with 10 goals, Al Wakrahs Angolan striker Gilson Dalla, is fifth with nine goals, followed by Al Gharafas Malian striker Sheikh Diabate, with eight goals, Al Wakrahs Algerian striker Mohamed Bin Yato, seventh with seven goals, Qatars SC striker Sebastian Soria, Al Shamals Colombian striker Jace Escobar, Umm Salals Jordanian striker Yassin Bakheet, and Al Sadd's striker Hassan Al Haydos, share six goals for each one of them. Al Sadd leads the standings with 40 points, seven points behind its closest rivals, Al Duhail, who is second with 33 points, while Al Wakrah in third place with 28 points, and Al Gharafa fourth with 26 points. The seventeenth round of the league will be held on Feb. 4TH, where Al Arabi ply Al Shamal, Umm Salal against Qatar SC, Al Wakrah with Al Sailiya, while Al Gharafa will face Al Sadd and Al Rayyan play Al Duhail at the end of this round.
