QOC Secretary General Receives Qatari Paralympic Delegation Returning from Tokyo

Doha, September 07 (QNA) - Team Qatar Paralympic champions returned home to a warm welcome on Tuesday morning after participating in Tokyo 2020 Paralympics which featured the participation of 4400 athletes from 160 nations. Qatars Abdulrahman Abdulqader claimed the bronze of mens F34 shot put event with a seasons best of 11.36M. The Qatari delegation was received at Hamad International Airport by HE QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain and Board Members of the Qatar Paralympic Committee. HE the QOC Secretary General praised Abdulrahman Abdulqadrs amazing achievement in Tokyo and said that this is the second Paralympic medal of the Qatari star after his first-ever glory in 2016 Rio Paralympics Games. "Abdulqader has fought tooth and nail in 2020 Tokyo Paralympics Games to dedicate this glorious bronze medal to our nation" added HE QOC Secretary General. Al Buenain also appreciated the efforts of the Qatar Paralympic Committee under the presidency of HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Saud Al-Thani. After this glorious victory, Abdulqader dedicated this bronze medal to the wise leadership and to the Qatari people, saying that he is so proud after clinching the countrys second medal in the Paralympic Games. Abdulrahman Abdulqader occupied the third place in mens F34 shot put event behind Jordans Ahmad Hindi who took the gold medal with a new world record of 12.25M while Moroccos Azeddine Nouiri clinched the silver medal with an effort of 11.55M. In Rio 2016 Paralympics, Abdulqader won Qatars first-ever Paralympic medal when he claimed the silver medal of the same event with a 11.15M throw. Team Qatar star Sara Masoud concludes her participation at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics with a season best of 5.42m to take the sixth place in women's F33 shot put event. Masoud is the first ever woman crowned with a Paralympic Games medal in the history of the nation when she won the F33 Shot Put silver in Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. (QNA)
