QSFA Concludes 2nd Local Chess Championships

Doha, September 03 (QNA) - The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) concluded the competitions of the second edition of the local chess championship, in cooperation with the Qatar Chess Federation and hosted by Qatar Mall. Indian player Amalia won the first place in the U-17 category, while Qatari national team player Khalid Al-Jumaat, the youngest participant in the tournament at the age of six, came in second place, and his teammate Fahad Al-Mansouri came in third. In the O-17 category, Algerian Gamal Ferhi managed to get the first place, followed by Egyptian Asaad Abo Al-Atta, in second place, while Qatari national team player Saad Al-Sulaiti took the third place. Director of Events at the Qatar Sports for all Federation Abdullah Al Dossari expressed his happiness with the success of the tournament, noting that the large volume of participation confirms this. For his part, QCF President Mohammed Al Mudahka confirmed the success of the second edition, praising the cooperation with the Qatar Sports for All Federation, pointing out that many parents have asked to include their children in the Qatar Chess Training Center.
