Rashid Equestrian Club holds season’s inaugural race

Manama, Oct. 28 (BNA): In the presence of HH Shaikh Turki bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Environment and the Deputy Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, the Rashid Club today held the first race for this season, 2022-2023, at its racecourse in Raffa, Sakhir. Their Highnesses and equestrian sports fans also attended the nine-round race which was held over the cups of the late HH Shaikh Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Turki bin Rashid presented the trophy of the Opening Day Cup for the ninth round to winning jockey Paul Hanagan, and that of the seventh round to winning training, Allan Smith. HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid presented the trophy of the Opening Day Cup for the eighth round to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Isa bin Rashid crowned jockey Ibrahim Nader, the winner of the first round, and Hadi Ibrahim Al-Afoo, for the sixth round. Meanwhile, HH Shaikh Ibrahim bin Rashid presented the trophy of the second round to assistant trainer Mohammed Haidar Ibrahim. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Turki crowned jockey Salim Al-Ajmi, the winner of the third round, while HH Shaikh Isa bin Faisal presented the trophy of the fifth round to HH Shaikh Sultanuddin bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa.
