RI's Mixed Doubles Jordan/Debby Beats Owi/Butet In Dubai

JAKARTA, Dec 15 (Antara) - Indonesian junior mixed doubles Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto defeated their senior mixed pairs Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir in the elimination stage of the Super Series 2016 final in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In a Group A game of the tournament, Jordan/ Debby defeated Tontowi/Liliyana 21-11, 21-12, according to the official website of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), monitored here Wednesday. "We have often trained together and met several times in international tournaments. We learnt from our shortcomings that emerged in previous matches," Jordan stated. It was the first victory of Jordan/Debby pair over their Owi/Butet in four previous meetings since 2015. They were now more confident of finishing the tournament which is being held from December 14 to 18, Jordan/Debby claimed. In the second game, Jordan/Debby will play against the first seeds from South Korea Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na. Ko/Kim had a 4-3 winning record over Jordan/Debby. "We have won and lost with Ko/Kim. We should play focused and remain calm to reduce our errors," Jordan pointed out. Meanwhile, in the second match of the elimination stage of group A, Owi/Butet will face Danish pair Joachim Fischer Nielsen / Christinna Pedersen.
