Royal Endurance Team announced as 'Best Arab Team'

Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): Bahrain Royal Endurance Team led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Captain of the Team, has added a new glory to their fairy-tale journey after winning Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Sport Creativity Award as the Best Arab Team. Receiving such a prestigious honour follows the team's victory in the World Youth Endurance Championships, held in Chile in the year 2015: On this occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that receiving this very high-status honour for the Bahrain Endurance Team wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support extended to the sporting movement in the Kingdom by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, who is attentively and constantly following, as well as backing Bahraini jockeys during their participation in all competitions in order to lift their spirit and motivate them to achieve best results. "And this support has contributed in having our Bahraini jockeys conquering podiums at top international races and championships," HH Shaikh Nasser noted, highlighting also the invaluable support extended by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to sports in the Kingdom. "Am very much honoured and proud to receive such a highly esteemed award which holds the name of a person very close to everyone's heart in the capacity of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai who has been always keen to recognise creativity, innovation and excellence across all sectors, especially in the area of sports. This award crosses the Arab world borders and is of world class status, and we are extremely proud of winning it," HH Shaikh Nasser said. "A lot of factors have contributed to the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team winning such a prestigious award, notably the hard work put in by everyone in the team, including the jockeys and all the staff in the administration, technical and media departments. Each one of them has worked very hard to make our victory in Chile possible and place the endurance sport in the Kingdom at the level its occupying today," HH Shaikh Nasser added, revealing that "the team will continue putting short-term and long-term plans and strategists to ensure the maintaining of the successes achieved so far. " HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid: This Accomplishment Interprets HM the King's Support: On his behalf, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), stressed that this achievement clearly interprets the support of HM the King to the endurance sport, which has contributed to place Bahrain among the top countries in this sport. "This greatly respected award proves that we are moving in the right direction thanks to the plans and strategies designed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who has been very keen to elevate the Kingdom in the area of endurance sport in order to enable the Bahraini jockeys to top international podiums," HH Shaikh Faisal said, confirming that this honour will boost the team to produce more efforts in the up-coming competitions. The Award Ceremony: It’s worth noting that the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team will receive the award at agrand ceremony that will be held in mid-January 2017 in Dubai, UAE.
