SIGA AMERICA Launched in Third Day of Sport Integrity Week 2021

Doha, September 15 (QNA) - The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) announced today the establishment of a new entity affiliated with the parent organization, SIGA AMERICA, and an independent Advisory Board to manage it, within the activities of the third day of the Sport Integrity Week 2021, currently being held via digital platforms. SIGA said in a statement that SIGA AMERICA has become the North American subsidiary of the worlds leading sport integrity coalition, and that high-level senior Advisory Board was appointed, as part of its efforts to expand SIGAs global footprint and usher sport into a new era of enhanced governance and greater integrity. Established as a non-for-profit organization, SIGA AMERICA focuses on three strategic priorities: Good Governance in Sport; Sport Betting Integrity; and Youth Development and Protection in Sport. The creation of SIGA AMERICA, now reinforced with an independent, high level Advisory Board, is part of a tailored continental approach to the increasing governance and integrity challenges facing Sport and the wider industry in North America. This fundamental step marks the coalitions rapid expansion, with SIGA EUROPE created earlier this year, and plans for SIGA ASIA in the pipeline. Chaired by Dan Mannix, Senior Advisor, and former CEO of CSM North America, the Advisory Board is responsible for providing strategic guidance and independent advice to SIGA AMERICAs leadership on relevant matters and projects, supporting the implementation of the organizations vision, mission, and global reform agenda. SIGA Vice Chairman Mohammed bin Hanzab, who led the Qatari efforts through the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) in founding the parent organization (SIGA) in 2016, expressed pride of the achievements made SIGA over five years to expand its activities to the North American continent with plans in place to expand further through SIGA ASIA. Bin Hanzab noted the huge professional effort that Sega has made during the past years in the areas of governance and integrity in sports, which was praised by the whole world, adding that the establishment of SIGA AMERICA would contribute to confronting challenges facing global sports, especially in North America.
