Squash's Top Ranked Stars to Participate in Qatar Classic

Doha, October 21 (QNA) - The Organizing Committee of Qatar Classic squash Championship, which will be held from Nov. 1 to 7, announced that the world number one and titleholder Egyptian Ali Farag and his compatriot Mohammed El Shorbagy, the number two in the world, will participate in the tournament, which is one of the biggest world squash championships. The 2016 Qatar Classic champion Karim Abdel-Gawad, ranked third in the world, will participate in the 2020 edition along with Tariq Moamen, ranked fourth in the world and the runner-up of the 2017 edition, and Paul Cole, the world number five, the organizing committee said in a statement on Tuesday evening. The tournament also witnesses the participation of the sixth seed Argentine Diego Elias, the seventh seed Marwan El Shorbagy, the eighth seed Simon Rosner, the 2005 edition champion James Willstrop, and French veteran Gregory Gautier, champion of the 2011 edition, who received a special invitation from the organizing committee. Abdullah Al Tamimi, ranked No. 27 in the world, leads the Qatari team participating in the tournament, which also includes the player Syed Azlan. (QNA)
