The Supreme Committee Reveals Events Accompanying the Amir Cup Final

Doha, December 15 (QNA) - The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) revealed Monday the events that will accompany the final of the Amir Cup, scheduled to take place on Qatar National Day between Al Sadd and Al Arabi.
This came during a panel discussion held with local media by SC Manager of Community Engagement Mead Al Emadi. In addition to the inauguration of the fourth stadium of the World Cup 2022, Al Emadi said that the day will coincide with national day celebrations. She added that the committee worked closely with the Ministry of Public Health and a number of state institutions to implement the precautionary measures required by the state to contain the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and to ensure the safety of the fans. The final see the attendance of 50 percent of Al Rayyan stadium's official capacity.
She said that events in the fanzone will begin before the start of the match by three hours, and will conclude 45 minutes before kick off. She said that this was done to ensure fans could get to their seats on time. She highlighted that the accompanying events will be cultural in nature and will see a number of state institutions participate. The Tunisia, Egyptian, Sudanese, Nigerian, and Kenyan communities will also have their own artistic and cultural shows. It is a part of a cultural program the committee signed with 57 communities in Qatar.
Al Emadi highlighted that the committee has strict precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the fans. These measures start from the process of buying tickets, which is done through the internet, testing all ticket holders, and managing the entrance and exit into and out of the stadium to ensure there is no overcrowding.
She stressed that the experience of organizing the Amir Cup final during the pandemic was very useful, as it will give the committee some expertise in trying to control any other emergencies in the future and ensure that the hosting of international sporting events runs smoothly.
Al Emadi then called on all citizens and residents to visit the events that will accompany the final to enjoy the rich cultural experience before turning to the game. (QNA)
