Tariq Zainal Retains Membership in the Asian Tennis Federation Board of Directors

Doha, November 18 (QNA) - The Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation, (QTSBF) Tariq Darwish Zainal, retained his membership in the Board of Directors of the Asian Tennis Federation, (ATF) after obtaining all the votes of the General Assembly during the elections that were held virtually today on the sidelines of the World Padel Championship (Qatar 2021), which is currently held in Doha. Zainal who was elected two years ago as a member of the ATF Board of Directors and was also elected Vice-President after that, got all the votes of the 45 General Assembly to continue his membership in the ATF for the next two years. Zainal, expressed his happiness at his re-election to the Board of Directors of the ATF, expressing his hope that his election will also be renewed for the position of Vice-President at the meeting to be held by the Federation in the coming days. He stressed that the State of Qatar has added a lot to international sports and is still at all levels, and is currently continuing to do so by hosting the World Padel Championship (Qatar 2021), for the first time in the Middle East and Asia, and with great success on the courts of the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. He added that the Qatar Tennis Federation presented many proposals to develop the pace of work in the ATF and spread the sport of tennis and provide support for it in all continental tournaments, noting that the ATF General Assembly approved a proposal to hold elections for members of the Federation's board of directors to be every four years instead of two years, this will be implemented starting from the next elections in 2023.
