Turkey to build new facilities for 2013 Mediterranean Games
MERSIN (A.A) - 04.03.2011 - Director General of the Youth and Sports Department, Yunus Akgul, said Friday that "to date, we have not experienced any difficulty in providing the necessary facilities during important events and organizations. We will build excellent facilities in Mersin for the 2013 Mediterranean Games".
Speaking to reporters in Mersin where he has arrived for the official signature ceremony of the 2013 Mersin Mediterranean Games, Akgul said that "serious efforts were made during the candidacy process for the games. We are now entering a new period and it is time to work".
We have a lot of responsibilities on our shoulders. Organizations like the 2013 Mediterranean Games bring many benefits to a country and to a city, Akgul said.
Governor of Mersin, Hasan Basri Guzeloglu, said that they were excited about hosting the 2013 Mediterranean Games.
The Mediterranean Games of 2013 will be the best ones organized to this date. We will complete the games successfully through cooperation, Guzeloglu said.
