Wheelchair Basketball Team congratulated on GCC win

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, Honorary President of Bahrain Paralympics Association has expressed his delight on the occasion of Bahrain's Wheelchair Basketball Team winning the third place in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s eighth edition held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, on December 19-26 in the UAE's capital Abu Dhabi. HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa the Chairman of Bahrain's Paralympics Association and the association's board members, ascribing such accomplishment as the result of the leadership's unlimited support to the youth and sports sector, especially the handicapped sports category that reflects the constant keenness on the inclusion of this category in all state sectors. HH Shaikh Khalid lauded the excellent efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth and Sports Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, in translating the visions and the directives of the wise leadership through the developmental plan laid by HH Shaikh Nasser which contributed to continuity of building and development of Bahraini sports and had the greatest role in accomplishment of plausible results by the Bahraini national teams during their participations at the various sports arenas. HH Shaikh Khalid also praised the distinctive level shown by the Bahraini team during this participation despite the strong competition from the contending teams, wishing the Bahraini team more successes in its upcoming participations.
