World Aquatics Championships in Doha Postponed from Nov. 2023 to Jan. 2024

Lausanne, February 01 (QNA) - The International Swimming Federation (FINA) announced today the postponement of the 20th World Aquatics Championships scheduled in Doha from November 2023 to January 2024.
This comes after the postponement of the 19th edition, which was scheduled to be held in Fukuoka, Japan, in May, to July 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
FINA explained that the tournament will be held between July 14-30, 2023.
Doha had won hosting World Aquatics Championships, which is considered the most important and largest event in the FINA calendar after the Qatari file won the highest number of votes during the voting process, which took place at the FINA Board of Directors meeting in Budapest, Hungary in 2016. Moreover, Doha outperformed the Chinese city of Nanjing and will have the honor of hosting the World Aquatics Championships for the first time in the Middle East. Doha is also scheduled to host the FINA Masters World Swimming Championships. (QNA)
