World Champion fencer Claudia Bokel arrives in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), 2001 world champion of and silver medalist of Athens 2004 Summer Olympics fencer Claudia Bokel came to Mongolian on August 17. Bokel is representing the IOC and organized trainings and seminars within the IOC Athlete Career Program. The training aims to give information on how to live after retirement to Mongolian fencers. She visited the Mongolian National Olympic Committee on Tuesday and handed invitations to participate in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Bokel is a German epee fencer, born on August 30 of 1973. She won a silver medal in the epee category of Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games, and also competed at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. She won a gold medal at the 2001 World Fencing Championship and at the 2006 European Seniors Fencing Championship. Bokel was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee by the 120th IOC Session, in August 2008, reports UB post.
