The talks touched upon the importance of Syria’s participation in the “Belt and Road Initiative”, as it was historically an important station and bridge for the ancient Silk Road, with its vital strategic location that enables it to play an effective role as a connecting link for land, rail, marine and air transport lines, in a way that contributes to activating transport movement, increasing trade and economic exchange, and stimulating the establishment of joint investment.
The Minister of Transport highlighted the Chinese people’s support for the Syrian people and humanitarian assistance provided to the affected by the earthquake.
In turn, the Chinese ambassador pointed out the importance of expanding cooperation and investing in Syria’s which has a vital location, and intensifying efforts to develop relations and encourage joint investments, particularly in the fields of transportation.
