Syrians in Golan reiterate rejection of Israeli scheme to build wind turbines on their land
Occupied Syrian Golan, SANA- Syrian citizens in the Golan, occupied by “Israel” since 1967, said on Saturday that they would not bargain over their rights or abandon grain of land in the Golan, as they considered an integral part of Syria.
During a protest in Al-Marj area located between the villages of Masada and Majdal Shams, the people of Golan reiterated their categorical rejection of the occupier’s new proposals through which the plan for wind turbines is trying to pass.
“We, the residents of the occupied Golan, will remain an integral part of the homeland, Syria, and will not allow the Israeli occupier to implement its colonial schemes,” The freed captive, Bishr Suleiman Al-Maqt, told SANA.
He reaffirmed that the people of Golan will fight in this battle until the Turbines’ scheme is thwarted.
Since 2019, the Golanese have been carrying out general strikes to confront the expansionist plan of the Turbines, which threatens to seize more than 600 hectares of their agricultural land, planted with cherry and apple trees.
Syria constantly reaffirmed that the occupied Golan is an integral part of its territory and it will return it by all available means.
The UN also constantly insists on the need for the Israeli occupation entity to fully withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan to the line of June 4, 1967and stop the settlement operations.
It stressed that all measures taken or will be taken by the Israeli occupier with the aim of changing the identity of the Syrian Golan are null and void, and constitute a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
