UNIVERSITY ATHLETES AWARDED STATE PRIZES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 102nd anniversary of restoring the national freedom and independence of Mongolia, state prizes were given Friday to university athletes and officials who successfully participated in the Summer Universiade of 2013. By a decree of the President of Mongolia, the Red Flag Order of Labour Merit was bestowed upon D.Jargalsaikhan, the secretary-general of Mongolia’s University Sports Federation (MUSF) and Chef De Mission of the national university team. The Polar Star Order went to M.Tumenjargal, the Vice Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism; B.Sugarjargal (belt-wrestling) and Kh.Enkhdelger (boxing), gold medalists of the 2013 Universiade; and other three people. The Honorary Medal of Labour went to university athletes for judo, belt-wrestling, boxing, freestyle wrestling, shooting and basketball, who won silver and bronze medals in this Universiade. As we informed before, the national university team had captured three gold, six silver and 16 bronze medals in the Summer Universiade which took place July 6-17 in Kazan, Russia. It has been Mongolia’s most successful games. At the 2013 Universiade, the number of the medal for the country surpassed a total of those won at previous Universiades.
