The Tenth "Babylon International Festival Of World Cultures And Arts" Be Launched At This Time

Baghdad / NINA / - The cultural circles announced the launch date of the activities of the tenth Babylon International Festival for World Cultures and Arts, which will be hosted by the Babylon Governorate, with wide Arab and international participation.

 

The Babylon International Festival's president, Ali Al-Shalah, said in a press conference on Monday evening, "The start date for the literary activities of the Babylon International Festival will be on April 30 at 12: am, with the opening of the book fair, with the participation of a number of local and Arab publishing houses, where the representative of UNESCO in Iraq will open the exhibition."

 

He added, "The festival is the largest Iraqi cultural event since its founding in 2011 by Iraqi intellectuals through the Babylon House Foundation for Cultures, Arts and Media (former Mesopotamia Cultural Foundation). The festival's vision was to combine arts and literature, all of which are poetry, narration, music, theater, cinema, composition, literary, intellectual and artistic dialogues, in addition to discreet folklore events, and today we have reached the tenth edition with wide cultural participation.

 

Al-Shalah appreciated the role and support of the Prime Minister and all the supporting and supportive bodies in the governorate, and the support of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for inviting university professors, employees, students and intellectuals to attend the Book Fairs, compositions and cultural and artistic dialogue seminars.

 

Al-Shalah invited all interested and intellectuals to attend the official opening next Monday, which will last until May 8, on the stage of the Babylonian theater, the ancient city of Babylon, the Marduk Hall and the Book Fair in the resort, in the presence of Arab and foreign cultural figures including artists, writers, musicians and researchers, in addition to organizing and holding plastic art exhibitions, musical and heritage activities, Sufi chanting, poetic and narrative readings, a symposium on Sufism, another on Muzaffar al-Nawab, a third on the centenary of Nazik al-Malaika, a fourth on historical drama, a fifth on the departure of novelist Abd al-Rahman al-Rubaie, a sixth on the Iraqi intellectual in his contemporary moment, and another on Iraqi drama now. / End
