MAH Terengganu Targets 5 Million Tourists In VTY 2017

KUALA TERENGGANU, (Terengganu, Malaysia), Nov 28 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Terengganu branch has set a five million tourist target for Visit Terengganu Year (VTY) 2017. Its chairman Rosly Selemin said hotel operators were making every effort to ensure that the target could be achieved including promoting local traditional foods and attractive locations in Terengganu. He said some hotel operators were offering room discounts of between 20 to 50 per cent. "Fourteen hotels under MAH in Terengganu will offer accommodation packages at reasonable prices according to star rating," he told reporters after a dinner organised by MAH here last night. He said MAH was also promoting 'Fascinating Terengganu' in Johor Bharu, Singapore and London, United Kingdom organised by the state government throughout this year. "We support every programme organised by the state government and we also received cooperation from tourist agents to promote VTY 2017. "For instance, in London, aside from introducing the 'nasi dagang' (a Malaysian and Southern Thai dish consisting of rice steamed in coconut milk, and fish curry), we also promoted interesting places in this state," he said. -- BERNAMA
