Malaysian Tourists Encouraged To Visit Yamaguchi Prefecture
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- Japan intends to attract more Malaysian tourists to the Yamaguchi Prefecture, which is where the 'Land of the Rising Sun' industrial revolution originated.
Its Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Makio Miyagawa welcomed Malaysians to visit the Yamaguchi Prefecture which has also produced eight Prime Ministers including current premier, Shinzo Abe.
"In the political circle, the prefecture has produced by far the largest number of Prime Ministers including the first and current PM, since the introduction of our parliamentary democratic system in 1890.
"It is from this prefecture our industrial revolution originated, expanded and reached all over Japan, guiding and leading our nation to this present height," said Makio during a showcase of Yamaguchi's 'Vibrant Companies' in the food and tourism sector at the Japanese ambassador’s official residence, here, Monday night.
The Embassy of Japan hosted Yamaguchi Prefecture's top companies in the food and tourism industries to a crowd of more than 100, including Malaysian industrial players.
Yamaguchi Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan in the Chugoku region of the main island of Honshu. The capital is Yamaguchi, in the centre of the prefecture and its largest city is Shimonoseki.
