Perak's Uniqueness Promoted To Tamil Nadu

IPOH, (Perak, Malaysia) Aug 10 (Bernama) -- The uniqueness of Malaysian state of Perak as a tourist destination will be promoted in Tamil Nadu following a visit here recently by India's Finance Minister C. Maheshwaran. Perak State Assembly Speaker SK Devamany said Maheshwaran's recent visit here was specially to promote Perak as a tourist destination in Malaysia, apart from enhancing relations between Tamil Nadu and Perak. "I think we can work together in various sectors and after this, I will ask the relevant quarter to a proposal on the matter to Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir," he told a media conference after the Malaysian Namakkal Welfare Association's 25th anniversary celebration. He said Perak, with various attractive destinations, like the Royal Belum Forest Reserve and Pangkor Island, had potential to generate revenue for the state. -- BERNAMA
