Phuket Carnival 2011 to kick off late December

PHUKET, December 3 (TNA) - Thailand's southern resort Phuket Province will organize the 26th Phuket Carnival 2011 on the famous Patong Beach later this month, while international tourists have increasingly visited the Thai North in this winter. The Phuket Carnival 2011, sponsored by the Patong Municipality, is scheduled to take place from December 15-20, during which locals and international tourists will be entertained by spectacular parades, light and sound shows, traditional Thai dance performances and live contemporary music. During the six-day festivity, there will also be various "saving the environment" activities at the Patong beach, including trash collecting under the sea and beach clean-up. Meanwhile, lively atmosphere was reported on Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest spot, situated in Jomthong District of the northern resort Chiang Mai province, prompting increasingly international tourists to have visited Doi Inthanon each day, despite a rapid drop of temperatures to below 10 degree Celsius at the mountain peak lately.
