KOTA BAHARU (Kelantan, Malaysia), Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Tourism Malaysia targets six million domestic and international tourists visiting Kelantan next year in conjunction with the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year. Tourism Malaysia Domestic Marketing Division senior assistant director Nor Aida Ismail said, in this regard, attention would be focused on culture, food and shopping facilities in the state. "We will work with local authorities and the state government to look after cleanliness in the state to give a positive impact on tourists," she said when met here Tuesday. Nor Aida said receptions would also be held at two international entry points, namely, the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas and the Sultan Ismail Petra International Airport, Pengkalan Chepa, here on Jan 1. Furthermore, she said Tourism Malaysia would distribute stickers at main roads in every state to enliven the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year celebration. "We will hold a 'Spot & Win' contest and the lucky owner of the vehicle with the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year sticker will win a special prize," she said. Commenting on the direct flight from Kota Baharu to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah which was launched by AirAsia Berhad recently, she said it would boost tourism in Kelantan. "Kelantan is capable of becoming a domestic hub for the East Coast region with the availability of the service. The arrival of foreign tourists to the state is expected to go up due to its close proximity with several countries such as Thailand, China and Australia," she added.
