Turkey and Russia sign two protocols in the meeting of JEC

MOSCOW (A.A) - 04.03.2011 - Turkish and Russian parties signed two protocols at the end of 11th meeting of Turkey-Russia Joint Economic Committee (JEC) held in Kazan in the Autonomous Republic of Tatarstan on Friday.
Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz and Russian Vice Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin signed protocols.
Delivering a speech in the signing ceremony, Sechin said that they discussed economic cooperation in the meeting of JEC, stating that Turkey and Russia would also focus on cooperation in the areas of automotive, shipping and high-tech in the coming period.
Sechin said that the two countries would also work to boost cooperation in the tourism sector this year.
In his part, Yildiz said that Turkey and Russia aimed to form a stable and sustainable structure, enhance cooperation and increase investments.
"Russia is a very important trade partner of Turkey. Trade volume which decreased remarkably in 2009 due to global economic crisis increased to 25 billion U.S. dollars in 2010," he said.
