ISTANBUL (A.A) - 23.03.2011 - Turkey's Borusan Holding will switch off its lights in a bid to extend support to World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) "Earth Hour" campaign.
Borusan stated on Wednesday that it would support the "Earth Hour" campaign which was initiated by WWF in 2007 in Australia, and would be held on March 26 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. this year.
Borusan will switch off its lights in its headquarters for a "sustainable future".
Organized by WWF, Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. In 2010, hundreds of millions of people across the world, in 4,616 cities, in 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action.
