Turkey's Industrial turnover index up in December 2010
ANKARA (A.A) Feb 11 - Industrial turnover index was up 29.3 percent (2005=100) in December 2010 over the same period a year earlier, Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, said on Friday.
The index, which covers the sectors of manufacturing and mining, also went up over the previous month by 32.1 percent, TurkStat said.
In the manufacturing sector, the year-on-year increase in December 2010 was 29.4 percent and in the mining sector, it was 26.2 percent.
The turnover index shows market sizes for goods and services.
Separately, TurkStat said industrial new orders index in December 2010 rose 26.7 percent (2005=100) over the same period a year earlier and it was up by 28.8 percent over November 2010.
The highest surge in the orders index was recorded in the manufacture of transportation vehicles with a powerful 112.1 percent.
